No one i sgoing ot hire you to work at home unless you have a minimum of 1 year of on-the-job experience, though most companies require more than that.

Going to an online school that has no major accredications will not get you a job with anyone. Going to a reputable school, like an appropriately accredited communitiy college, may get you a job.

The best way is to get a job with a hospital or doctor’s office. they will usually require you to work for them for 6 months to a year before they will allow you to go home. And of course not all places will even let you work at home anyway.

So nothing is guaranteed, and it’s a big risk.

Life never ceases to amaze me. It is shocking how you can have your entire future mapped out then in the blink of an eye you are somewhere you never planned or dreamed you would be. I was a happily married, full time homeschooling mother to two brilliant babies. Then I woke up one day to discover my husband had decided this wasn’t the life he wanted. So, uprooted my little dynamic duo was suddenly out of the comfort of everything we ever knew and thrown into a world that was entirely unfamiliar. Suddenly mommy, who had always been there and readily available needed to work, and fast. So I went back to the only industry I’ve ever known, food service. Managing a restaurant I’d worked for off and on for 10 years I was back in my element, but immediately remembered why I left in the first place. Crazy hours, physically exhausting, not really a chance to use my brain or other skills that I possess, (like typing 90wpm).

Frustrated I began looking online medical transcription courses since I knew time wouldn’t allow me to work and go to the community college down the road. I was intrigued by medical transcriptionist training immediately. Right off the bat was excited by the qualifications needed that I felt I possessed. Researching, (into the wee hours of several mornings for several weeks) I came to the conclusion this was a path definitely for me.
