Entry-level Medical Transcription Jobs?

Question by Jessica: Entry-level Medical Transcription Jobs?
Does anyone know of any companies that will hire recent graduates for a medical transcription home-based position?
I graduated in April and am not having any luck finding a job that doesnt require at least 2 yrs experience. I have been doing an unpaid internship for a local transcription company for experience and Id like to be paid for it. I am certified and have all the education and training needed. Just not the experience. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Well it would help if you would say where you live at.

It depends where you graduated from.. if it was a place like Sanford Brown ‘College’ don’t plan on ever getting hired because those places have HORRIBLE reputation with doctors office’s and Hospitals.. The economy is so bad that there are people with Master’s Degrees applying for jobs and they cant even get a call back for an entry level position.. just try your best to constantly apply all over the place.. maybe revamp your resume and wait out the economy crash

There are a lot of transcription companies out there, that you will probably have no problem. I will see if I can find any posts of things that you could look at:

I graduated in July with my medical transcription certificate, and I too have been having trouble getting hired because of no experience or no openings period. My thing is, how are we supposed to gain experience if no one hires us? And the state of the economy right now doesn’t help; lots of people are having trouble finding work where I live. I think there’s even a hiring freeze right now. *sigh* I don’t know about you, but I don’t have the transportation to travel to another area, where I’m sure I can get a job. But if you can, try that. Search the boundaries and areas outside where you live, however far you’ll be willing to travel. Make sure you go to all the doctors offices you can, along with clinics and the hospital. Like someone else said, we may have to just wait a little longer for things to pick up. And don’t be afraid or too proud to take another job outside of transcribing (like receptionist at the front desk of a doc’s office, or another position at the hospital that you qualify for, any type of secretarial work, etc.) just to get your foot in the door and have a paycheck in the meantime. I’ve been looking for all of that and still haven’t found a job.

Here’s a site you can check each day for job openings:
