Are careers in Medical billing or transcriptionist very secure for the present time?

Question by blrpg: Are careers in Medical billing or transcriptionist very secure for the present time? I am debating whether or not to take a certification course in medical billing OR transcription. Could someone in the medical field tell me if there is job security in those two positions? Or direct me to a medical career forum?

Answer by jannsodyA word to the wise not to necessarily trust anyone from a message board or chatroom and instead try to stick with area hospitals and doctor’s offices as no one really knows the validity of any ‘job offer’ from the internet especially if asking for money upfront Perhaps taking a related job such as a medical receptionist can help one “get their foot in the door”.

I’m a new graduate who’s trained in medical transcription but no one in my hometown or anywhere near by seems to be hiring transcriptionists.
